If you’re looking for something different for your vacation this year, and you don’t like run-of-the-mill destinations, go to Atlas Obscura. This site has a collection of profiles of unusual travel destinations, and there are some pretty weird ones. You can read about a lake that disappears; a geologic formation that is so magnetic it will pull your car uphill if you put the car in neutral; an island where people speak in a language of whistling; a cockroach museum; a root beer saloon; a town with an underground fire that’s been burning for more than 40 years; a museum made entirely of salt; and enough ghost towns, haunted houses, geological oddities, and crazy museums to make your next vacation unforgettable. You can join this site and add your own reviews of oddball travel destinations, too.
